But VA is a compromise with the least amount of bad sides. VA have worst pixel response times and more often than not exhibit visible overdrive artifacts, especially on skin tones which have this strange banding effect. VA panels have real struggle switching from black to dark tones and this cause dark streaks. VA panels normally have poor viewing angles, but the Q90 has an optical layer that Samsung calls 'Ultra Viewing Angle', which greatly improves the viewing angles at the expense of a lower native contrast ratio. The TV's local dimming can't be completely disabled using the normal settings menu. But overall, IPS gives a more incredible color gamut than VA TV. The IPS panel offers 95% sRGB with a high-end display. Also, full DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB coverage are seen. This is the kind of impressive color gamut it provides. On the other contrary with the VA panel, the sRGB it gives125% or 90% DCI-P3 mark. This is a somewhat decent color gamut. It uses about 45.5% of the available colour spectrum. The best OLED and QLED panels achieve about 95-99% of this and earn the Ultra HD Alliance (UHDA) Ultra HD Premium certification. OLED wins because it has pure blacks and whites. Low-cost TVs may quote 100% Rec.709, but that’s only 35.9% of what colours we can see. VA (Vertical Alignment) Panels. VA panels are something of a compromise between TN and IPS. They offer the best contrast ratios, which is why TV manufacturers use them extensively. While an IPS monitor typically has a contrast ratio of 1000:1, it's not unusual to see 3000:1 or 6000:1 in a comparable VA panel. VA viewing angles aren't great, it's a known thing. Good contrast, solid response times, and with decent amount of dimming zones (500-1000), the blacks are much deeper than either IPS or VA, approaching OLED levels in most scenes. If you have the money for the gsync hardware module, VA is the way to go. If you don't have the budget for it, go with IPS, it has way less issues in Freesnyc/GSYNC compatible mode.
