This is what i hated in the previous games, the time limit. So i buy the game and the main story has a time limit. So all the fanboys will scream "its 7 days" . That's a time limit geniuses.

So the choice is yours. To complete the game, you have to pursue the 8 main "cases" but if you fail to complete one, that doesn't mean you can't continue playing (saving survivors, defeating psychopaths, exploring, ect). At the end of the 72 hrs (or anytime you die), you can restart and all you XP carries over.
Dead Rising isn't a sand box, it's a unique open world game. People don't complain about Majora's Mask having a time limit. Hell, you can completely fucking ignore the time limits and dick around until Day 3 (a good 6 hours), get on the helicopter, and fly away. I love Dead Rising because it knows it's a video game.
Both this and Dead Rising 2 are excellent games. Just be sure not to go into it expecting some open world zombie-slashing free-for-all, because that's not what this is. It's a survival game. Have a little patience, learn how the game works, and don't ragequit the first time you die like a lot of the dipshits here did.
